Season + Time of day

Sunrise or sunset when nature is at its most picturesque are beautiful times when it’s just the two, or a handful of you. Winter is particularly lovely on the Sunshine Coast, with Autumn and Spring very close behind and of course those long hot summer days are perfect for elopements right on the beach. If possible, try to plan outside school holiday times if you can.

Number of guests

Elopement is traditionally just the minimum, the couple (and your2 required witnesses) to evoke the rawness of emotion; a very small handful of guests with you is fine.

Legal

Not a thing to worry about here! Your celebrant will take care of it all and guide you through step by step making it an easy and totally stress-free experience. The only thing to be mindful of is the 1-month minimum legal notice to your celebrant before your big day. For example, if you wish to marry on June 16, the first form has to be signed by May 16. This can be done remotely if you are not on the Sunshine Coast at the time, so no worries here at all. The 2required witnesses (18+) can be supplied if necessary. This is how to get started!
